The Royal Air Maroc network to Africa is centered on the Casablanca hub as platform for transit from Africa to the Maghreb, Europe, Middle East and North America.

Departing Casablanca, today the national flag carrier flies directly to Mauritania, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali, Gabon and Niger.

25 flights per week

In 2003-2004, Royal Air Maroc began to ensure no fewer than 25 frequencies per week to Africa departing:

  • One daily flight from Casablanca to Dakar in code share with Air Senegal International

  • 5 flights per week to Abidjan

  • 4 fights per week to Bamako

  • 4 flights per week to Nouakchott

  • 3 flights per week to Conakry

Traffic jumped by 35.5%

The multiplication in flights offered and greater frequencies has made it possible to procure substantial improvement in traffic for Royal Air Maroc.

The number of passengers transported to Senegal increased by +61%. The same increase was reported for the Ivory Coast. For other market, the growth registered hovers between 10 and 26%.

The activity recorded showed a jump of 120% from 2000 to 2004, i.e. a growth of 25% per year reaching a turnover of some 550 million DHS this year.

Transit traffic via Casablanca moved forward by 55%

In 2004, transit traffic departing Africa via the Casablanca hub increased by +55% compared to 2003.

Passengers coming from and heading to Africa in transit via the hub to the Maghreb, Europe and North America represented 60% in 2004 vs. 50% in 2003. With the Casablanca hub, this performance places the Company in international competition with other European hubs.

To offer a world network departing Africa, Royal Air Maroc signed a code share agreement with Emirates for continued flights to Duba. Royal Air Maroc also has a code share agreement with is subsidiary Air Senegal International.

These two code share made a major contribution in boosting activity beyond Dakar on the regional network of Air Senegal International and also to Duba departing the major African markets, thanks to the partnership between Royal Air Maroc and Emirates.

Africa is a marking currently undergoing strong expansion and where several major European companies are operating. On top of a worldwide network, Royal Air Maroc offers a highly competitive fare grid and enjoys an excellent image in connection with the quality of its services.
