Dubai, UAE; It has been a night of elation at this year's World Travel Awards Europe Ceremony, held in Antalya Turkey at Rixos Premium Belek on 1st of October; Herald Tribune described The World Travel Awards as the 'Oscars' of the travel industry and Rixos has been awarded "Best Hotel Brand of Europe".Airlines, Travel Agencies, Destinations and Hotels from over 162 countries were nominated in thousands of categories. It was the 17th award ceremony and this year Turkish Airlines and Rixos sponsored the Awards night. The Tourism authorities of the region, CEOs, directors of leading travel companies, Chief Executives of Destinations and Tourism Departments as well as celebrities were among the attendees. Around 600 international press members from 22 countries were present at the Award Show and Rixos Hotels was nominated in over ten categories:The award categories varied from Airlines, Hotels and SPAs to Cruises, Rent a Car Services and Golf Resorts. Nominees were evaluated for their customer care, innovation, inspiring products, services and job performance.The election lasted four months and votes have been casted online: Rixos Hotels was awarded "Europe's Leading Hotel Brand " among hundreds of hotels. Rixos Premium Belek and Rixos Premium Bodrum were nominated for "Meditterranean's Leading Hotel". Rixos Libertas Dubrovnik was awarded "Europe's Leading Casino Resort " and Rixos Sungate won "Europe's leading Meetings and Conference Resort " award.Rixos President Astana and Rixos Almaty Hotels will compete at the Asia Award Ceremony. The renowned Fire of Anatolia Dance Group entertained on stage whilst Turkey's popular anchorwoman Seda Akgül hosted the event.
On Sunday 7th November the winners will compete in the final of the World Travel Awards in London during the opening evening of World Travel Market 2011.
