As part of the regular inspections by KHDA of all the schools in Dubai, Repton School was awarded an Outstanding rating following its inspection in March 2015
Dubai, 13th May 2015 - The "outstanding quality of education" provided at Repton has been emphatically highlighted in the KHDA report published on 10th May. Students across the school were praised for their "excellent work ethic" and for "developing outstanding learning skills across the curriculum." The whole school community of staff, parents and students were found to share the "aspirational vision for the delivery of a high quality British education in Dubai."
Repton's students reflected the levels of skill and dedication demonstrated by one student achieving 'Best in the World' while six others achieving 'Best in the UAE' in the Cambridge IGCSE earlier this year. The inspection team highlighted how Repton's students "in all phases enjoyed learning and demonstrated mature attitudes willingly taking responsibility for their learning." They were reported to make "outstanding progress in the development of their understanding of the world." They had a "strong understanding of their own cultures, demonstrated respect, appreciation and understanding of Emirati traditions and a good awareness of other global cultures." The school's strong sense of community was picked out for particular praise. Inspectors found that "relationships between staff and students were outstanding" and that "students across all phases demonstrated outstanding personal, community and environmental responsibilities."
Repton's teachers were also praised for the excellent standard of their work. "Teachers' expectations were high. Tasks and activities were designed to support and challenge students to do their best." The school's emphasis on inspiring students to achieve high standards and to "think beyond what was expected" was rooted in the work of "highly skilled teachers who enable pupils to think deeply and to instill a desire to find out more."
"After six years of tireless hard work, since the KHDA inspections commenced, we are delighted to have achieved an 'Outstanding' rating. This is a splendid reflection of the dedication of our pupils, teachers and all our support team over a number of years. We are really grateful to our supportive parents and we look forward to further developing the Repton School community," commented Jonathan Hughes-D'Aeth, Headmaster at Repton School.
"It's wonderful to see Repton getting the recognition it deserves. Repton has been outstanding to us over the past three years. This is a well deserved confirmation of all the hard work done by the school," commented Ethel Ngoma who is a parent at Repton School with three children in FS1, Year 1 and Year 7.
