Abu Dhabi, UAE:  Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), managed by Cleveland Clinic, revealed its new logo today. During a special employee ceremony hosted by Dr Scott Strong, Acting CEO of SKMC, the new logo on the entrance signage of Sheikh Khalifa Surgical Pavilion was unveiled.  The new logo consists of SKMC's well-known logo, along side the international Cleveland Clinic logo.

On the 04th of June 2007, Cleveland Clinic officially assumed management of the 550-bed acute hospital (Surgical and Medical Pavilions), the 120-bed Behavioral Sciences Pavilion, and the 88-bed Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation Centre, as well as more than 14 specialized outpatient clinics, 9 primary healthcare centers in various parts of the city, and 2 dental centers.

The announcement of the new logo represents a milestone in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City's strategy to create one of the world's finest healthcare systems. The Cleveland Clinic is internationally renowned and respected for its focus on patients, and its relentless efforts to integrate clinical and hospital care with research and education.

"The re-branding plans of SKMC represent another step in the realization of the vision shared by SKMC and SEHA to provide our patients with the best healthcare practices in the world," said Strong. "The new logo has captured the presence of the Cleveland Clinic brand and its personality that aligns with our core corporate values."

"Cleveland Clinic has a long-standing history of excellence in clinical care, research, and education, and we are truly excited to extend that attitude to SKMC," said Paul Matsen, Cleveland Clinic's Chief Marketing Officer. SEHA owns and operates SKMC and the other public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.  One of its strategic objectives is to deliver world-class healthcare services to the residents of Abu Dhabi.  The Cleveland Clinic seal of excellence is another step along the way to that goal.

Dr. Strong commented that this was a historic day for SKMC.  "SKMC managed by Cleveland Clinic will continue to ensure the ongoing provision of high-quality healthcare services, cutting edge technology, and continuous medical education."

Over the next 5 years, SKMC aims to build on core competencies, improve quality of care, and enhance access to services offered to UAE nationals, insured expatriates, GCC nationals, and medical tourists.
