Rakeen, a global property developer and Ras Al Khaimah's top master-planner, has announced that it will unveil a new three-tiered shopping mall and a 20-floor office tower during the Arabian Travel Market 2008 (ATM) in Dubai when it opens on May 06, 2008; as key projects within Ras Al Khaimah's AED 1.2 billion mixed-use resort development 'Bab Al Bahr'.
The 29,000-square-meter shopping complex will include a supermarket, retail shops, coffee shops; a grand store; a foodcourt; a children's amusement centre; specialty shops; and six cinemas. The 38,500-square-meter office tower will offer underground parking for 450 cars and stunning views of the gulf sea waters, in addition to a full range of business and office amenities such as free zone trade licenses and easy access to facilities within the fully integrated development complex, such as residential apartments and a 300-room resort hotel.
"Bab Al Bahr has been expertly planned as a centrepiece development project of Rakeen - the master developer of Al Marjan Island and other pioneering developments including an exhibition and convention centre, offshore financial districts and new local and international urban projects. Rakeen's works have contributed significantly to strengthening Ras Al Khaimah's reputation as an excellent regional business and travel destination," said Wahid Attalla, CEO, Spectrum Consultants, Project Managers and Owner's Representatives of Bab Al Bahr.
"The modern shopping complex and the sophisticated office tower feature world-class amenities that will definitely enhance Bab Al Bahr's status as a hotbed for business and leisure," Attalla added.
In addition to the shopping mall and office tower, Rakeen will also showcase an impressive portfolio of projects being developed within Bab Al Bahr, including a recently-launched residential development that offers 710 freehold apartments (110 studios and 290 one-bedroom, 220 two-bedroom, 90 three-bedroom apartments). The residential area includes a pool bar, gym, themed swimming pools, children's play areas, club facilities, and underground parking for up to 800 cars.
Bab Al Bahr is the inaugural development project on Al Marjan Island - Rakeen's man-made coral shaped atoll that extends four kilometres into the Arabian Gulf. The island-inspired, fully integrated community offers occupants and visitors stunning 360-degree sea view s and extensive landscaping that includes exotic gardens and a 500-meter long stretch of beach.
Aside from a wide range of residential and commercial options, Bab Al Bahr also features a world class resort hotel offering 300 rooms and suites to be managed by B&G Hotels and Resorts. In addition, Bab Al Bahr offers a highly strategic location that facilitates easy travel to the international airports of Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai and Sharjah.
"Scheduled for completion by early 2010, Bab Al Bahr is definitely something any investor or property buyer will not want to miss. The Arabian Travel Market 2008 will thus serve as an excellent venue for potential investors to discover the various excellent features being offered by this groundbreaking project. Rakeen has prepared extensively for this exhibition so visitors can expect a very informative and interesting presentation of Rakeen's key projects within Bab Al Bahr and across the emirate," concluded Attalla.
