Felicitation by Guest of Honour HE Dileep Nair, Consul General, Republic of Singapore in Dubai

A 100% pass profile secured with 7 students achieving grades of 5 As or higher; including highest level of performance by Pranav Rajpurkar with 9 A*s

RIS-West scored higher against the world cumulative averages in all subject areas offered

Dubai, U.A.E. [1 December 2010]: The Raffles International School (RIS) West Campus celebrated the achievements of its first batch of IGCSE students on 29th November, 2010, setting a remarkable precedent for the future batches.

The Guest of Honour for the felicitation ceremony was His Excellency Dileep Nair, Singapore Consul General in the Emirate of Dubai, who connected with each and every one of the young achievers with his anecdotal keynote address.

"I would like to congratulate the IGCSE batch of 2010 from RIS, West on their outstanding performance. Raffles has been my almamater when I was growing up in Singapore and this incredible performance once again reinstates the position of Raffles institutes on the top of the league of education institutes," says HE Nair.

His word of advice for the students of RIS, West can be encapsulated into the 'three Ps' that he believes are essential in life's journey. "One's school always plays an essential part in nurturing an individual. To that I would also like to recommend the elements of Pride (satisfaction in everything you do), Passion (the fervour that will see you through obstacles in life) and Probity (the honesty that assures people around you) that go a long way in making an individual successful," adds Nair.

RIS, West has secured a 100% pass profile with most students securing grades of 5 A*s or higher in the 104 awards that were attempted by the 2010 batch of 12 students. In particular, RIS celebrates the achievements of Pranav Rajpurkar, 15, who turned in an incredible performance that earned him nine A*s - a feat few have achieved in UAE.

Beginning this academic year in September 2010, Innoventures Education has assumed the responsibility of managing and operating the Raffles education portfolio in UAE, bringing to the institutions proven competencies in the education sector and a successful track-record of bringing world-class educational programmes to Dubai.

"It has always been the mission of Innoventures to give our students the best of teaching expertise and learning opportunities. The teachers, parents and students of RIS, West has played a very important role in this sterling performance and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the entire team on their hard work and efforts. It is a proud moment for all of us gathered here as this successful track-record becomes yet another milestone in the world-class education we are bringing to UAE," says Poonam Bhojani, CEO of Innoventures Education LLC.

The University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) board has compiled statistics for the 2010 IGCSE examination session with a comparison of world cumulative average grades and those achieved by the students at RIS, West. The results indicate that RIs, West students are well ahead of the world averages in every IGCSE subject offered at the school.

The school is especially proud of the fact that this batch of students found the perfect balance between work and play, also having found the time to get involved in several extra-curricular activities, both within the school and externally.

"Pranav's success, and that of his peers, is the result of tremendous dedication and commitment. Considering we are a new school which was established only two years ago, this achievement comes as a special honour indicating that our students were well equipped to face anything the external exams could pose for them. We are justifiably proud of their accomplishments and would like to urge our future students to learn and be encouraged by such performance," says Carol Meyers, Head of Middle and High School, Raffles International School, West Campus.
