Doha: Qatar National Bank (QNB), the country's leading financial institution, has announced that it has signed up as a Platinum Sponsor of the 3rd Qatar International Medical Congress in Doha next month.
The Qatar International Medical Congress is scheduled to be held at the Sheraton Hotel, Doha between November 8 and 13, 2005. The congress is held under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Heir Apparent, promises to be the largest and the most important medical event in the region. Around 3,000 medical professionals are scheduled to attend this medical extravaganza.
The sponsorship of the high-profile event confirms QNB commitment to the health sector in Qatar. A sponsorship agreement was signed between Mr. Abdulla Nasser Al Khalifa, Executive Manager (Retail Assets) at QNB and Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Musleh, Director of Emergency at HMC and Chairman of the QIM Congress.
Talking about the sponsorship, Mr. Al Khalifa said: "In line with our strong ties with Hamad medical Corporation and our commitment to the health sector, we have signed up as Platinum Sponsor to the event.
"The six-day Congress will play a pivotal role in the ongoing the promotion of quality health care in the region. It will also provide an opportunity for the dissemination of some of the latest advances and thoughts in current medical practices from around the world. We are pleased to partner with this prestigious event, that will bring together an international panel of speakers representing a wide variety of medical and surgical specialties."
In his comments, Dr. Al Musleh said: "We are extremely grateful to QNB for supporting our initiative which further reinforces their commitment to a vibrant health sector in Qatar. The Congress will provide a fantastic opportunity for medical professionals from around the world to exchange views, make new friends and to share knowledge and network in general."

QNB continues to sponsor various events and conferences in Qatar as part of its support to health and education-relation programmes in the country. In addition, QNB has donated several million Qatari Riyals to support development of health and medical facilities in Qatar.
