Qatar: 28 February 2009 - The country's first ever conference on District Cooling: "District Cooling in Qatar Conference", saw the involvement of four of the industry's leaders and was declared a great success by participants and invitees alike.

Meeting at the Diplomatic Club on Thursday 26th February, Qatar District Cooling Company (Qatar Cool), Cool Tech Energy Water Treatment Company (CoolTech), Installation Integrity Company (I2I), MARINSPECT Refrigeration and Environment Services Company (MARINSPECT) held a conference on the most relevant issues in what is fast becoming of climate control for many of the property developers and design consultants in the region.
Opening the event was General Manager of Qatar Cool Fayad Al Khatib, who expressed his pleasure in taking part in what he hopes will become an established platform for this innovative service. "At Qatar Cool, we believe that whether we are a utility provider, or a utility consumer, we all deal with similar, if not the same, matters. However, we have proven that the benefits are more rewarding if we deal with them jointly."

Qatar Cool Operations and Service Manager, Aniruddha Kulkarni gave an insightful overview on District Cooling, introducing its many advantages and contributions against the effects of global warming.

Kevin Fernandez, Sales Manager at Cool Tech presented his Company's approach to sustaining cooling efficiency through water treatment: ''CoolTech offers a unique blend of services that enable district cooling providers to optimize the efficiency of their cooling systems. Water treatment programs represent some of the many services that Cool Tech provides to achieve this objective."

I2I Area Manager, Gerry Mc Geoch the discussed installation integrity process, and his company's role as an independent technical provider He said: "Over the years I2I has proven its strength in providing independent technical services, and thanks to sustained collaboration with other leaders in the industry we are now one of the main independent commissioning companies in the region.''

MARINSPECT Business Development Manager Ray Hunter in his closing presentation said: ''Our strong relationships with the companies present here today is of an utmost importance to us. The current global focus on preserving and retaining energy is paramount, and demonstrates the importance of the optimal running efficiency of HVAC systems. We are all committed to achieving our goal at highest efficiency and least cost,.

Attending "District Cooling in Qatar Conference" were representatives of major real estate development companies, engineering consultants, architects and contractors.

Qatar Cool Business Development Manager, Mohannad Khader, said that Qatar Cool is pleased with its position in the market, and is working collaboratively with our clients to increase and further optimize the benefits of district cooling.
