Doha - Qatar, 22 February 2014:  Qatargas has become the only Company in Qatar to achieve Gold level accreditation with 'Investors in People' (IiP).  The accreditation was achieved in November 2013 by the Company's Learning and Development Department, which also makes it the only L&D Department in any LNG company in the world to receive this award.

Ghanim Al-Kuwari, Qatargas Chief Operating Officer Administration, officially received

the Gold Accreditation award from David Dale, Operations Director of 'Investors in People' during a brief ceremony held recently at Qatargas' Head Office building in Doha.  Also attending the ceremony were Adnan Al-Shaibi, Qatargas Learning and Development Manager and Abdulaziz Al-Mannai, Qatargas Human Resources Manager.

'Investors in People' is an international business improvement tool administered by UK Commission for Employment and Skills and supported by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). It was launched in 1991 and is now a network spread across over 70 countries, consisting of over 23,000 organizations of all sizes representing all sectors. 

The IiP framework has been developed over 21 years with some of the world's leading businesses.  Accreditation is awarded following a thorough assessment based on the 'Investors in People Framework' which sets out a clear structure and benchmark for improvement, to help every team be the very best they can be.

Having gained this award places the Qatargas Learning and Development Department in the top 5% of Investors in People accreditations worldwide.

The Qatargas Learning & Development Department applied to join 'Investors in People' International and work towards accreditation for the department with the objective of raising its performance in communication and customer services to the best international standards.

All members of staff in the Learning & Development Department were engaged in all aspects of process improvement and equipped with full understanding and knowledge to be able to participate fully in the strategic aims of the department.  Each employee was interviewed over a three day period, and challenged to give practical examples of how the department communicates, how it demonstrates the Qatargas values and how the it contributes to the bottom line return on investment for Qatargas.
