The Qatar Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (QSPE) in collaboration with the Qatar Section of the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (QSPWLA) hosted a joint event on Thursday, 28 October at Old Movenpick Hotel.

The Technical Talk was conducted by Mr. Hani Elshahawi from Shell, SPE and SPWLA Distinguished Lecturer.  In the Presentation, Mr. Elshahawi has showed that linear hydrocarbon gradients are the exception, not the rule and he has also shared the recommended workflow and highlighted with examples.

Amongst the audience which reached 45 and got together and shared their extensive knowledge and expertise were the key organizers of the meeting namely: Sheikh Faisal Bin Fahad Al-Thani, The Chairperson to QSPE and Deputy Managing Director of Maersk Oil Qatar, Mr. Steve Schwin, Membership Chairperson, Mr. Abdulla Al-Sadah, Chairperson to the Young Professionals, Marwa Ammar, SPE Event Manager and Ralf Polinski, Secretary to QSPWLA

The event truly embodied the mission of the Society of Petroleum Engineers: the global exchange of technical knowledge as it provided its attendees with the latest technical information and an opportunity to network with each other.
