Prime tourist destination celebrates with a host of fun filled family events

Sharjah: Qanat Al Qasba, the premier leisure and entertainment destination of the region will host a series of fun filled events to commemorate the 36th National Day of the UAE. The three day fiesta that will begin on December 1 will go on from 5pm to midnight daily.

Congratulating the government and the people of the UAE, Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO of Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority, said, "Thanks to the vision of our leaders of the UAE, our nation has seen development and growth like none other in the region in a very short span of time. As the progress continues towards a greater future, we celebrate this glory in our own way and invite all to join us in our celebrations."

The fun filled and colourful events will concentrate on everything traditional in line with the celebrations. A host of traditional activities from traditional bands and dances to games particular to the region, children's activities and delicious food and beverages concocted by UAE national women on site will no doubt prove great repast for visitors.

A unique and interesting feature of the celebrations will be an opportunity for the visitors to witness the intricacies of a traditional UAE wedding every evening. Followed by exciting games unique to the UAE nationals, and dances that will keep feet tapping, the events promise some colourful evenings in store.

The Al Harbiya Traditional band will also keep up the tempo daily with their shows starting at 9 pm till midnight, while visitors can enjoy a special performance by the UAE military on December 2 from 5pm to 7pm. As with all celebrations, a magnificent display of fireworks will dazzle visitors daily at 9pm.

A plethora of activities have been tailored for children too, making it a complete family festivity. The fun filled Freej Cartoon Characters will be present at Qanat Al Qasba walkway daily from 5pm to 10pm where visitors can meet and greet their favorite traditional characters. A children's area complete with stilt walkers, games a huge bouncing castle and exciting camel and horse rides to keep children shrieking with delight, puppet shows starting daily from 5.30pm to 7.30pm are just a few of the activities for children to look forward to.

Visitors can also enjoy the scrumptious cuisines offered by various restaurants flanking the QAQ canal in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Or for an exhilarating experience, they could take a ride on the Eye of the Emirate, the highest observatory wheel in the UAE. And for a prefect ending, visitors can enjoy a ride under the stars in the QAQ Abra tour along the canal.
