HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office, Tunisian Ambassador to Saudi, His Excellency Salah Eddine Maaoui. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Altobaishi, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman and Ms. Manal Alshammary from the Protocol Department at KHC.

During the meeting, Ambassador Maaoui relayed cordial regards from the President of Tunis, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and handed His Highness a thank you letter from the President. The President thanked Prince Alwaleed for his recent donation of 5000 personal computers for the "Computer Philanthropic Program" in Tunisia in response to a request from the Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. The program was developed to help initiate education in information technology for the people of Tunisia. The computer philanthropic program will give the opportunity to most families to use this vital resource for development in different areas.

Also on the agenda of discussions were social and economic issues, and Saudi-Tunisian relations. The ambassador said that Prince Alwaleed is very highly regarded by the President and people of Tunisia, and is a role model for young people there who are motivated by his efforts. Prince Alwaleed thanked the ambassador and asked him to relay his cordial regards to the President.

HRH had met with the Tunisian President on a number of occasions at the Presidents Palace in Carthage and in 2003 the President bestowed the highest medal in Tunis upon the Prince. In 2004, the Tunisian ambassador awarded the Prince with the "November 7" medal to commemorate the anniversary of the accession of the President, and a letter of thanks for Prince Alwaleed's continuous support of the people of Tunisia.

In conclusion to the meeting, the Tunisian ambassador thanked the Prince for the opportunity to meet with him and his active role in contributing to the development of the Tunisian economy through HRH's investments there.
