PalTel is sponsoring an art exhibition entitled "Visit Palestine: A Voyage through Contemporary Art" at 4 Walls gallery situated in Sheraton Hotel, Amman to be inaugurated today and to continue until June 29, 2005. This comes within PalTel's strategy of connecting with the Palestinian people and of encouraging creativity and distinction.

Artworks by a select elite of Palestinian artists living in Palestine and abroad will be on show at the exhibition. Works include those of Nabil Anani, Tayseer Barakat, Sulaiman Mansour, Khaled Hourani, Vera Tamari, Ahmad Kanaan, Ibrahim Nobani and others including Palestinian artists from France and the USA. This extensive display will reflect the progress in Palestinian art and culture over the years.

A press conference will be attended by a number of the members of the board of directors, heads of departments and company staff who will participate in the inauguration ceremony, an addition to Several Jordanian personalities and official delegations will also attend.

Besides encouraging cultural progress in Palestine, PalTel's sponsorship of this exhibition expresses the importance it attaches to creativity and distinction in all aspects of Palestinian life. PalTel's supports Palestinian art as well as other important facets of Palestinian life. PalTel Believes that art is a door to the outside world and it reflects the ancient roots and originality of the Palestinian culture. In addition to that, PalTel will always support Palestinian artists especially that they express the realities of Palestinian life in its sweetness and bitterness, relating them to the world in a highly creative manner.

It is worth mentioning that PalTel has previously sponsored similar events such as the PALTEL Virtual Gallery project in cooperation with Bir Zeit University on March 17, 2005 where PalTel has allocated over US$158,000 to support the project for a period of three years. The project is a web site dedicated to Palestinian art history, the first of its kind, to be the official reference for educational material for Bir Zeit University as well as other local, regional and international universities. Through this web site students can browse through various international art web sites. It will also provide a listing of current art exhibitions and shows in Palestine and elsewhere enabling art enthusiasts to keep up with the latest events with the objective of closer communication among artists and art establishments inside and outside of Palestine. This is also part of PalTel's endeavors to encourage electronic education.

In the field of telecommunications, having established the Palestinian Telecommunications Group, PalTel plays an important role, locally and regionally, with profits announced for the first quarter of 2005, actively participating in the meetings of the World Economic Forum in the Dead Sea.
