The highly acclaimed global publishing, research and consultancy company Oxford Business Group (OBG) and the renowned Tumi Law Firm have sealed a successful first collaboration by teaming up once again for the Group's forthcoming business guide, The Report: Libya 2009.
The alliance will see the leading legal company act as OBG's partner for the second consecutive year by working with the Group's experienced research team to compile the law chapter of the upcoming report. The Report: Libya 2009 will explore the legal aspects of many core areas of business, with an emphasis on corporate law, business start-ups, intellectual property, commercial law, banking and finance, property law, investments and insurance. There will also be in-depth analysis of the laws governing the petroleum industry, immigration, mediation and arbitration, the aviation and maritime sectors and labour issues.
The Report: Libya 2009 will be produced by a team of OBG analysts based in Libya who will conduct some 200 interviews with leading political, business and economic figures. Rated as the premier source of information for foreign direct investment into the country's economy, it will be a vital guide to the many facets of Libya, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, political landscape, banking and sectoral developments.
Jana Treeck, OBG's Country Director for Libya, said that the positive reception with which the Group's first report had been met was due in no small part to the valuable contribution made by the publishing company's partners there. "The Report: Libya 2008 was widely regarded as a ground-breaking success and, as the first and only comprehensive guide to the Libyan economy, it is one of OBG`s most requested reports," she said. "The law section, in particular, has become a crucial reference tool for foreigners looking to do business in Libya, and we are highly appreciative of the significant contribution that Tumi Law Firm made in ensuring that the report met and even exceeded the international business community's expectations."
Treeck voiced her confidence that with Libya's leadership priming the economy for a significant change of direction, demand for an updated report would be huge. "Libya's move towards economic diversification and liberalisation, coupled with its bid to encourage foreign investment, are well documented," she said. "As these major policy shifts take shape, there is no doubt that OBG's report on Libya will be indispensable in ensuring business leaders remain informed of the changes we are witnessing and the opportunities that this period of transition is bringing about."
As the leading legal company operating in Libya, Treeck added, Tumi Law Firm was undoubtedly in tune with the political and economic developments taking place there and the implications for potential investors. "I am confident the law firm's in-depth understanding of Libya's economic scene will ensure that the company makes a highly valuable contribution to The Report: Libya 2009," she said.
Dr Mohamed A.Tumi, Managing Partner of Tumi Law Firm, said the company was looking forward to once again playing an active role in putting Libya on the map as a country brimming with untapped opportunities for foreign investors. "As Libya prepares for a new phase in its economic and political development, Tumi Law Firm is proud to be helping Oxford Business Group provide foreign companies with access to a wide range of business intelligence with which they can make informed decisions," he said. "I am confident that our extensive expertise and experience will help OBG to prove that it remains unrivalled in producing reports that are leading sources of business information on emerging markets
Tumi Law Firm was established by Dr Tumi in 1990 following the liberalisation of the laws relating to private legal practice. Over the years, the company has grown to become the largest law firm in Libya and today offers a wide variety of legal services to businesses both nationally and overseas, including some of the biggest corporate names around the globe around the world."
Available in print form or online, The Report: Libya 2009 will be part of the range of OBG's publications which are renowned as leading sources of information on developing and emerging economies around the world.
