Abu Dhabi, UAE; 23rd February 2015: NIMR Automotive, a part of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), today announced two contracts with the Armed Forces of the UAE for armoured vehicles.

All of NIMR's vehicles are designed, manufactured and assembled in the UAE. EDIC is an integrated national defence manufacturing and services platform that comprises 16 companies operating across land, air, sea and digital platforms.

The first contract will see NIMR deliver 500 new vehicles this year, consisting of five variants of NIMR's AJBAN 4x4 vehicles. The second agreement provides for the upgrade of 500 NIMR vehicles currently deployed by the Armed Forces of the UAE across the country. The combined contract value is AED 1.2 billion

Production of the new vehicles and the upgrading work will be carried out at NIMR's production facility within the Tawazun Industrial Park in Ajban, Abu Dhabi.
