Brand assumes place in history for creating the first transparent watch

Dubai, UAE September 5, 2007: One of the most coveted watch brands, Quinting, has taken the watchmaking world by storm because of its innovative genius. It has assumed a place in history by conceptualising and creating the first transparent wristwatch.

Founded in 1993, Quinting, was the brainchild of four Swiss engineers, who set out to create unique watches with hands that appear to float in space with no visible means of being turned. The first transparent chronograph was welcomed with great success and honoured with the prestigious 'Official Prize of the Revue des Montres' in 1999.

In 2000, after seven years of research and development the first transparent Quinting chronograph was launched. The watch became so popular that demand exceeded by 2,000 pieces. However, the management decided to keep production low, as is suitable for high-quality items.

Essentially, each Quinting watch houses a patented sapphire movement that makes it transparent. The Quinting movement - specific to the brand only - is made by superposing several thin-toothed discs of sapphire previously metallised and given an antireflection coating. These features have placed Quinting watches among the most sophisticated and complex on the market today.

The oversized 'Chronograph Mysterious Quinting' is made of noble and precious materials and its case is engraved with an individual serial number. The 'Transparency' watch is creative, audacious, flamboyant and perfectly aesthetic.

Quinting's 'The Dove of Geneva' chronograph is produced in limited editions of 192 pieces and reminds its wearer of peace. It has two doves, one turning at the speed of the minute hand and the other at the speed of the hour hand. The doves become perfectly superposed for only one minute of every hour thus symbolising the perfect peace.

'The Jolly Roger' is produced in the limited edition of 40 pieces in pink gold. Meanwhile, the 'Sea Devils' in pink, white and yellow gold is devoted to one of the 20 most famous pirates of the Golden Age of Piracy. On a stationary sapphire layer, in the heart of the movement, is painted a real portrait of each pirate.

The completely transparent movement of 'Telescopium' allows man to capture transparency as mysterious and intangible as the night sky littered with stars. The 'Great Bear' is a jewel that will serve its owner as a talisman and endow him or her with mystical power of this legendary constellation.

The Quinting watchmakers seem to be inspired by stars when while creating the first 'Zodiacal watch'. Zodiacal will be a transparent watch and a worthy talisman for its owner especially if he or she believes in mystical power of objects.

Released in a limited edition of only five pieces, Quinting's transparent six-hand pocket watch called 'Janus' is made of 13 glasses of sapphire and has a double face.

Quinting is available in Damas Les exclusive Boutique such as Beach Rotana Hotel - Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace - Abu Dhabi, Burj Al Arab, Saks Burjuman, Mall of the Emirates and Emirates Towers.
