Performance and service continuity guaranteed
The NEC Express5800/140Re-4 and Express5800/140Hf servers integrate the latest technology on the market. Capable of supporting the most demanding environments, they offer considerable performance benefits: these quad-processor servers with Intel Xeon MP 7100 dual-core architecture have up to 16 MB L3 cache and 64GB DDR-2 2400 RAM.
In order to guarantee availability of data and applications, power and ventilation is both hot plug and redundant.
Furthermore, the Express5800/140Hf server has a very large storage capacity: up to 1.9 terabytes (5+8x146 GB SAS) in quick-removal internal hard drives.
Simplified maintenance and modular design
With LED indicators on the chassis, EXPRESSSCOPETM helps identify a faulty module. It also allows the operating system to be easily replaced and restored quickly.
These servers are delivered as standard with the administration software NEC ESMPRO which allows all inventory and error information to be obtained with the Remote Management card and DianaScope, the system's remote control tool.
Thanks to its modular design, maintenance of these servers is highly simplified: tools are not needed, cables are absent, and there is front access to the internal and external hot plug components - all without sacrificing capacity for extensions or deployments.
The RAID memory hot plug modules ensure service continuity by enabling a faulty memory module to be replaced quickly and easily without extracting the server from its casing. It is also possible to add a memory module without switching off the server or booting it up (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 only).
High levels of accessibility are maintained by having 6 of the 9 PCI slots Hot Plug n Play and also having access to the processor, memory and power parts via the front of the chassis.
A major plus point: NEC's technical site in Angers (France)
One of the strengths of NEC Computers is its flexibility and reactivity. The whole NEC Express5800 range is designed, developed and manufactured in NEC's factory in Angers, France. Companies are therefore able to choose their configuration to order (CTO).
The most specific requests are dealt with by the FIS (Factory Integration Service) team which personalises each hardware and software configuration. NEC Computers therefore designs, manufactures and supports custom-built architectures that correspond exactly to the customer's requirements.
