Over 6 million visitors until August 2014
In 2014, over 17% rise in August footfall compared to same period last year
Showcasing Muscat Grand Mall as Oman's most preferredentertainment destination, mall management have announced 6 million visitors - a30% increase in footfall between January and August, 2014 as compared to the same period in the previous year. Having welcomedover759,128 visitors in August 2014 itself, Muscat Grand Mall recorded a 17% growth in footfall, over the same month in 2013.
Home to over 130 international brands, many of which have entered the Oman market for the first time - Muscat Grand Mall has increasingly become the retail destination of choice among the people of the Sultanate. With this influx of new global outlets, increasing the choice for customers, the Mall has seen a steady boost of visitors.
Hassan Jaboub - General Manager of Muscat Grand Mall explained, "This encouraging 30% growth in footfall elevates Muscat Grand Mall's position as the nation's most visited tourism and shopping destination. Over the past year, the Mallhas been witness to the demand in Oman for a retail destination and we are confident to hit higher milestones before end of the year, given the robust expansion plans."
Expanding their range of apparel offerings, Muscat Grand Mall recently saw the opening of several new stores - Original Marines, Beverly Hills Polo Club and Hunkemöller,Reebok, Megaton and bYSI, giving their customers an even wider choice in merchandise.
Furthermore, brands like Franklin Marshall and Silvian Heachare expected to open doors soon, making MGM the stop for designer as well as casual wear garments. In addition, the opening ofLebanese cuisine specialists, Semsom, among many others have also developed Muscat Grand Mall as one of the top dining destinations in the capital region. This increase in international brands and dining options has contributed majorly to the augmented footfall, in 2014.
Hassan added, "The visitor footfall is matched by the increase in retail sales, highlighting the contribution of Muscat Grand Mall to the Sultanate's retail sector.Across the previous two quarters, we have announced the opening of several new stores and restaurants. We are happy to mention that a large number of international brands at Muscat Grand Mall have recorded their highest sales across outlets over Oman in the Mall - reflecting the healthy business opportunity at Muscat Grand Mall."
The Mall has also been organising a large number of interactive events, organised two promotion campaigns where six cars were given away as grand prizes and 42 other give aways. Moreover, as a part of the Company's corporate social responsibility, 51 initiatives - both educative and fundraising were held on the Mall's premises, involving customers in 2014.
