Beneficiaries of maintenance contracts can process requests within minutes

Manama, Bahrain: The Ministry of Works in Bahrain (MoW) recently launched the "Building Maintenance Requests" eService on the eGovernment National Portal (www.bahrain.bh). The new service comes as part of the eGovernment Authority (eGA) and Government entities' efforts to provide a fully integrated and modern eGovernment system in line with the strategies of the Bahrain Vision 2030.

The "Building Maintenance Requests" eService is offered to customers with maintenance contracts with the Building Maintenance Governorate in the MoW, whereby they can register and track their maintenance requests around the clock, 7 days a week.

In a statement, Eng. Hisham Sater, Director of IT in the MoW, urged beneficiaries of the maintenance service in both the public and private sector to register their requests electronically. "The Ministry receives over 200 maintenance requests per month, and much of our customers and Ministry staff's time is used up by their prolonged processing procedures via the traditional channels. As such, we made this eService a top priority for us and worked diligently with the eGA team to simplify the request procedures and offer it online to enable our customers to finish their requests within minutes."

Sater also disclosed that the MoW is embarking on offering several eService in the course of this year, including Traffic Diversion Requests in the first quarter of 2009.

Commenting on the eService, Mr. Isa AbdulRahman, eGovernment Authority Director of Marketing and Awareness, said, "We recently updated the number of eServices which will be offered on the National Portal (www.bahrain.bh) from 167 to 200 in response to the growing demand from the government and public alike due to the enormous time and financial savings they present, and we promise to continue doing our utmost to provide the best level of convenience, quality, and value-addition to everyone."

Mr. AbdulRahman also thanked the MoW for its notable efforts and collaboration with the eGA that went to offering this eService on the eGA National Portal.

The Building Maintenance Requests eService, one of 72 currently available on the National Portal (www.bahrain.bh), is the fourth overall offered by the Ministry of Works, which previously launched the Sanitary Complaints, Sanitary Connections Requests, and Materials Testing Results (QC) eServices.
