Development of Mechatronics Engineering as a branch of engineering started about four decades ago. Since then this branch has played a pivotal role in shaping scientific innovations in sensors, actuators, process control, microcontrollers and real-time control software and robotics technology. AMA International University, Bahrain is the first university in the Kingdom to introduce this innovative and highly sought-after course.

AMAIUB's Mechatronics program is an interdisciplinary field of study that looks into the design, development and controlling of advanced hybrid-systems. The program is a ladderized program which offers an intensive training in the complex field of robotics, automation engineering, and hardware and software design. The program intends to produce graduates who can become experts in the field of electronics, mechanical, computer engineering, manufacturing systems and management. They will also be capable of undertaking research, development and community engagement which could contribute to the Kingdom's industrial development.

Ms. Buena Gracia Canzana, AMAIUB Head of Administration said 'As a leading academic institution in Mechatronics engineering, AMAIUB strives to provide its students with educational facilities that are at par with the world's best. This year, AMAIUB's development of Mechatronics engineering includes the renovation of the Mechatronics Laboratory, acquiring new and updated equipment from FESTO and Allen Bradley, international training for professors and updating the curriculum to meet the needs of the local and international market.'

AMAIUB College of Engineering is located within the AMAIU campus in Salmabad and is equipped with state-of-the art instructional facilities in the areas of mechatronics, electronics, computer and electrical engineering.
