Marubeni awards Palm Jumeirah Monorail signage contract to Adventure Digital

24 LCD screens to be installed at 4 Monorail stations

Dubai, October 27, 2008: Marubeni Corporation, the contractor for Palm Jumeirah Monorail, has commissioned Adventure Digital LLC, a Dubai based company specializing in digital signage solutions and digital printing, to install digital signage at the Palm Jumeirah Monorail stations.

Adventure Digital LLC is a division of Adventure Advertising LLC, a leading advertising and media company in the UAE. Adventure Digital LLC is executing the project by teaming up with Sharp Corporation, a pioneer in the LCD and electronic component technology. Sharp Corporation is the largest manufacturer of LCD Information Display Panels (IDP) and has recently launched the world's largest 108-inch LCD screen in the UAE.

The digital signages will be installed at four Monorail Stations on Palm Jumeirah. A total of 24 LCD screens of 52-inch diagonal will be installed at the stations. All LCD screens will use digital engines that will be networked for centralized management.

"The remarkable size of the screen and the excellent high resolution graphics make the screens an ideal medium for displaying arrival and departure timings as well as for carrying various social and community messages. This will also enable this medium to act as an easy to read and understand channel to commuters in the station environment," Mr. Girish Mehta added.

The contents and scheduling will be decided by the Monorail Authority. These screens will also assist Dubai Monorail in communicating a uniform and standard message across the network.

The Palm Jumeirah Monorail will connect the Palm Jumeirah to the mainland, with a planned extension to the Red Line of the Dubai Metro. The construction of the Monorail will be completed in Dec.2008, and the line is scheduled to open in April 2009. When opened, it will be the first Monorail in the Middle East.
