Germany based MAQUET, global market leaders for operating room systems and intensive care units, today announced the launch of its Middle East Office in the Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech) at a press conference in Dubai.
Held on the first day of Arab Health 2007, the Middle East's largest health fair, the press conference was led by Thomas Schneider, MAQUET Group Director of International Business, Dr. Abdulqader Alkhayat, Executive Director of DuBiotech, and Belal Al-Khatib, Managing Director of MAQUET Middle East.

MAQUET Middle East is the German company's 23rd new sales and service subsidiary launched within the last six years alone, representing the impressive growth that MAQUET has witnessed since 2000.

Exhibiting for the first time ever with its own 168 m stand at Arab Health from 29 January to 1 February 2007, MAQUET Middle East is representing all of its three Business Divisions: MAQUET Critical Care, MAQUET Cardiopulmonary, and MAQUET Surgical Workplaces.
"Dubai's Arab Health Exhibition has become the most important medical and health fair in the area. This is reason enough for us to showcase all our major products," Al-Khatib said.
Among others, MAQUET will present its latest OR table and transportation system MAGNUS, the innovative POWERLED surgical light and the unique MODUTEC / ALPHAPORT ceiling service units. MAQUET Telemedicine provides an interactive installation of a video conferencing system in the operating room.
Furthermore, a critical care set-up to show the MAQUET CRITICAL CARE products will be on display: a SERVO-i ventilator with NAVA (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist). NAVA is a new approach to mechanical ventilation which allows the patient to control the ventilator with his/her respiratory center. NAVA represents a paradigm shift in the area of ventilation therapy. The complete range of MAQUET CARDIOPULMONARY products for secure open-heart surgery will be on display as well.
