Abu Dhabi - Logfret Middle East's Project team was awarded on Saturday for their record achievement in the preliminary phase of the on-going Taweela Fujeirah Gas Pipeline (TFP) project. In an inspiring ceremony, each member of the team received a certificate of appreciation from Dolphin Energy Ltd and Stroytransgaz.
Stroytransgas is assigned the construction of the $400 million pipeline project on behalf of Dolphin Energy Ltd, and has contracted with Logfret for logistical support to the TFP project.
Logfret's participation in the first phase of the project consisted of the Customs and Port clearance of 15000 massive 12-metre long and 48-inch diameter pipes, in addition to their loading, lashing, off loading, transportation from Abu Dhabi port, storage and segregation.
According to Abu Dhabi port and energy officials, the task which was completed in less than 2 months was done in record time. Tremendous effort was exerted by Logfret Projects team to organize and manage a site where a fleet of 110 trucks were involved in a 24-hour-a-day operation.
During the appreciation ceremony, extra emphasis was made on the important fact that this phase was accomplished with no accidents reported. "The health and safety of our personnel and anyone else involved is our number one priority, this is why we invest so much time in training everyone from our project managers to our crane operators and drivers", pointed out Bechara Hage, Logfret Middle East GM.
One of the main challenges in the region's projects sector is to keep up with international health, safety and environment standards. At Logfret Middle East, these challenges are turned into assets, through a series of measures that can sometimes be life-saving. "It was important for us to achieve progress on the first phase of TFP on time, but it was equally important to do so using the safest methods and with the best impact possible on the community we are working in", added Logfret GM.
This tribute to Logfret's Projects team marks a continuous cooperation between logfret and Stroytransgas. The preliminary phase having been successfully completed, work on phase two of TFP already started at the beginning of the month of February. Logfret will be involved in the distribution of the pipes along the 240-km pipeline.
The Taweela Fujeira gas pipeline, 240 kilometers in length, will traverse the entire territory of the United Arab Emirates and link the receiving terminal in Taweela (Abu Dhabi Emirate) on the Arabian Gulf coast with treatment facilities in Fujairah on the coast of the Gulf of Oman.
Logfret is a multinational logistics conglomerate with a worldwide presence and a four-decade history in supply chain management services comprising freight forwarding and warehousing to advanced retail distribution, logistics and turnkey projects. Since it established its presence in the Middle East through its Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Jebel Ali branches, Logfret has been actively engaged in the region's fast growing pace.
