Despite the recent unrest in the surrounding Arab World, Lebanon still proves its appeal as a serious offshore destination for investors and start-ups from the MENA region and Europe as well. This matter was highlighted during a roundtable organized by "Lebanon Offshore", an all-inclusive offshore solutions provider. The business discussion was hosted by the company's GM Mrs. Carole Nahas, while Me Michel Ghanem representing "Khalaf Law Firm" and Mr. Mosbah Majzoub from "Majzoub & Partners - Auditors and Consultants" spoke from their different perspectives about the perks of incorporating an offshore company in Lebanon.
In her intervention, Mrs. Nahas stressed on the great potential that the Lebanese offshore system enjoys and its ability to attract investors from all over the world especially the Arab business community. She explained: "We have a unique banking system in the region applying strict policies vis-à-vis money laundering activities while respecting customers' banking privacy. Me Ghanem highlighted the fact that Lebanese legal framework allows full ownership for foreigners, while offering the advantage of limited liability of relevant shareholders, in addition to the fact that non-Lebanese general manager does not require a work permit if residing outside Lebanon"
Mr. Majzoub pointed out the offshore system tax perks, stating that Lebanon is an ideal tax shelter for entrepreneurs who can benefit by the means of the offshore system, from a special profit tax treatment. These same offshore companies are totally exempt from taxes on salaries paid to employees working outside Lebanon, as well as the inheritance tax.
"Lebanon Offshore" was set up to help incorporate offshore businesses. It delivers fast, reliable and integrated incorporation services in less than 24 hours to all businesses looking to grow in a virtually tax-free environment, all of that at a competitive price.
