A spinning marathon will be held at World Class on May 30th-31st as part of the Road to Awareness Initiative
Amman, May 27, 2008 -Le Meridien Amman and World Class Academy Health Club will be collaboratively organizing a spinning marathon on Friday May 30th and Saturday May 31st as part of the world-wide Road to Awareness Initiative being implemented by members of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which goes hand in hand with the UNICEF Child to Child project.
Gerhard Mansbart, General Manager of Le Meridien Amman, said "The two day spinning marathon that will be held at World Class will raise money for the UNICEF Child to Child project, which will provide thousands of children and adolescents across the world with knowledge and skills needed to have a voice in the own lives." He added, "The project aims to empower children to become active and meaningful partners in important matters that affect them the most."
In support of the Road to Awareness initiative, Le Meridien Amman and World Class encourage all members and guests to participate in the cycling Endurance Challenge by committing at least an hour of their time to ride a spinning bike at their leisure, with sponsorships from friends and relatives for every hour that they ride. The sponsorships can range from anywhere between JD 1 to JD 50 per hour.
The Road to Awareness Initiative falls under the Check out for Children campaign, which has helped raise over $18 million to immunize over one million UNICEF children against childhood diseases.
