Restaurant offers choicest of authentic Indian delicacies in a relaxed ambience

Dubai, UAE, 27 December, 2004: Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah, the award winning getaway on the East Coast has recently launched 'Swaad'- an exquisite bar and restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine with flavours to suit every palate. 'Swaad' is credited to be the first Indian restaurant to be launched at a Le Meridien property in the UAE.

Situated on ground level, 'Swaad' which signifies taste in Hindi, is the latest addition to the scenic resort's culinary expertise drawn from around the world providing guests with a variety of cuisines to enjoy.  Keeping preferences in mind, the restaurant has carefully put together two special sets of menus, 'Subz Bahar' for vegetarians and 'Swad Khazana' for non vegetarians.

Commenting on the opening of the Indian restaurant, Mr. Patrick Antaki, General Manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort said, "The amazing array of different cuisines on offer at our resort reflects the diversity of our guests. 'Swaad' - the latest addition to the restaurants which includes Taste, Views and Baywatch Village, brings the best of Indian cuisine to the hotel. Our choice of restaurants at the resort have been based on recommendation from guests coupled with surveys aiming at providing our guests absolute comfort in all aspects"

The restaurant is set against a backdrop of simplistic Indian dcor reflecting the diversity of Indian cuisine, with specially chosen colours depicting the flavours and spices from India.

On the launch of the new restaurant, Mr. Bybee Chacko, Chef for the restaurant, said, "We have created a selection of innovative gastronomic delights for our guests who appreciate the exotic flavour of Indian cuisine.  The restaurant is all set to tickle taste buds of visiting guests with a wide range of savouries from different regions in India. Some of the favourites include the signature Biryani- Zard Murg Biryani and Carrot Halwa, which also are my personal favourites."

The restaurant promises to serve relishes from across India wit tandoori delight such as Ghazab Ka Tikka (Morsels of Chicken with richness of cream and green cardamom), Jhinga Birbali (Tiger prawns marinated in hung yoghurt, chili, mint, Spinach and exotically Spiced) and Dum Ka Seekh (Hyderabadi Lamb Kebab cooked on Skewers), giving the true  taste of India. To round up the meal, 'Mili  Zhuli' a duet of Carrot Halwa and Vermicelli Kheer comes highly recommended by the chef.
