Lagoon Bahrain customer relations centre opened by H.E. Salman bin Essa bin Hindi, The Governor of Muharraq
Bahrain, November 20, 2006. Under the patronage of H.E. Salman bin Essa bin Hindi, The Governor of Muharraq, Lagoon Bahrain, the pioneering commercial freehold development from Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH), opened the doors of its on-site, customer relations centre, 'The Lagoon Lounge', on Amwaj Islands, off of the Kingdom's Muharraq coast.
The bespoke centre is expected to process investor transactions of up to US$120 million in the coming weeks as the high-interest MoU's (Memorandum of Understanding) pledged since the project's launch just 16 weeks ago are converted into contracts.
(At today's opening activities, attended by more than 100 senior government, corporate and media representatives) His Excellency applauded the commitment to world-class infrastucture development by the Kingdom of Bahrain and cited the 55,500 square-metre Lagoon Bahrain as a shining example of 'vision becoming reality'.
"Muharraq is my birthplace and I am thrilled at the thought of the Kingdom's gateway island being further established as a waterfront lifestyle venue, alive with high-end retail, leisure and eating outlets," the Governor said.
Muharraq, the home of the Kingdom's international airport and gateway of more than seven million passengers per year, is the second largest of Bahrain's original 33 islands, with recent reclamation project of Amwaj Islands bringing the island total to 36.
Rashad Janahi, chief executive of developers Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH) confirmed that investor interest has been buoyant: "We are expecting a considerable amount of business to be conducted in the Lagoon Lounge over the next couple of months, including the signing of up to 50 contracts with a total value of around $120million."
He said that the Lagoon Lounge will centralise all back-office operations for sales and investor service, as well as acting as a showcase for the finished project, with the specially-commissioned Lagoon Bahrain model, by architects, Davenport Campbell, taking centre stage.
"It was decided early on that a development as groundbreaking as The Lagoon Bahrain, should have a customer relations and sales centre that is special.
"Therefore, we have designed and decorated The Lagoon Lounge in the style of The Lagoon Bahrain to give a real impression of how The Lagoon Bahrain will look and feel.
"The Lagoon Lounge is now the main hub for contract signatures and all things client-related and we expect - and encourage - a significant amount of traffic through the Lounge.
"With the comfort of the customers in mind, the top-class finishes and decoration reflect the high quality expected from the project, and so act as a showcase for potential investors, or even just curious visitors. We hope that they will want to spend some time here and we promise a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere."
The Lagoon Lounge is signposted from Bahrain International Airport and is now open from 8am until 5pm between Saturday and Thursday.
