Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic commercial banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain, today announced the appointment of Mr Khalil Ismaeel Al Meer as the bank's new Chief Executive Officer. Mr Al Meer comes to KHCB with extensive experience in commercial banking having worked for many years in reputable banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Al Meer was General Manager of Corporate Banking division in BBK

Speaking on behalf of the Board of the Bank, Dr. Fuad Al Omar, Chairman of KHCB said: "We are pleased to welcome Mr Khalil Al Meer as the new Chief Executive Officer of KHCB. We believe that Mr Al Meer's vast experience in banking and strong business relationships will be invaluable as we move forward with our strategy to expand and grow our business in Bahrain and in the region. We are confident that Mr Al Meer will bring his own innovative style of leadership to our institution and continue the tradition of excellence that we have established".

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Khalil Al Meer said "KHCB is a young and growing bank , and  I look forward to build on the bank's strengths and deliver a growing customer base with innovative financial products and services. Mr Al Meer has over 28 years of experience in corporate banking, gained in senior roles at National Bank of Bahrain and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait.  He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Bahrain. He also attended the Gulf Executive Development Program at Darden Graduate School of Business in University of Virginia (USA) and attended the Senior International Bankers Program of the International Centre for Banking and Finance Services at Manchester Business School (UK).
