As part of his regular meeting schedule, Mr. Khalaf Al Habtoor, chairman of Al Habtoor Group, received in his offices on Al Wasel Road, a delegation from the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center.
Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, CEO of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center, was accompanied by Mr. Sulaiman Baharoun, Senior Executive Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research, and Dr. Ayesha Abdulla, Senior VP of Healthcare City.
The attendants reviewed the progress of the "Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center," a generous donation from Mr. Khalaf in support of the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research.
Mr. Al Habtoor pledged his continuous faith in the financial and moral situation of Dubai and the UAE, under the leadership of Their Highnesses Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and declared that Dubai and the UAE will always occupy a pioneering position in the Arab world and the region; especially due to the money and effort the government spends on research and building a solid infrastructure for education and medical advancement.
The meeting, which included the CEO of Al Habtoor Group, Mr. Mohammed Al Habtoor and other executives from Al Habtoor Group, also discussed the possibility of more support to the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center, a matter which will materialize soon.
Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi praised Mr. Al Habtoor's ongoing support of education on local and international levels as eagerly as Mr. Jeffrey S. Flier, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and president of the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research, did in 2005 when he said: "Your visionary gift will have an extraordinary impact on our efforts to make Dubai a regional centre of excellence in medical education and research to benefit the entire Middle East."
Mr. Al Habtoor, chairman of the 40-year-old Al Habtoor Group, in keeping with his interest and commitment to general human welfare, launched a unique campaign Mar. 3, in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority, on his company's Facebook social network profile, committing to donate 4 AED to children with special needs in the UAE every time someone becomes a fan.
The creator of this unprecedented drive, Mr. Al Habtoor, will be inaugurating the "Al Habtoor Leadership Center" at Illinois College in Chicago.
