Minister commends UAE firm on its efforts to help restore full power supply to Baghdad and surrounding area
The Minister of Electricity of Iraq, H.E. Dr. Kareem Waheed Hassan, accompanied by Mr. Esmat Akbd, the General Consol of the Iraqi Embassy in the UAE, has visited the Masaood John Brown service center in Jebel Ali Free Zone to inspect repairs on equipment that the company is carrying out on behalf of the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity.
Masaood John Brown is playing a central role in helping to restore a full power supply to Iraq's capital city via its handling of repairs to the turbine and compressor rotors of a GE designed, MS9001 gas turbine. This turbine, which belongs to the Al Qudas Gas Power Plant supplies Baghdad and its suburbs with electricity.
H.E. Dr. Hassan also inspected six other MS5001 gas turbines which have been re-manufactured by Masaood John Brown for installation at South Baghdad Power Plant. Masaood John Brown is currently working on consolidating the equipment and materials to begin rehabilitation on four MS5001 gas turbines and plant auxilaries at the Hilla Power Plant (100 KM South of Baghdad).

Other significant projects Masaood John Brown hashave seen the company transform into a regional pioneer in offering energy been involved in to date include rehabilitation of Mosul power plant , Mullah Abdullah Power station, North Oil Company's Power Plant, and AB2 Pumping station Basrah Petrochemical Plant, and an extensive rotor repair program involving all MS5001 power plants in Iraq .
Thanks to its proven expertise in repairing and rejuvenating previously exhausted heavy duty turbine equipment, Masaood John Brown has become a key player in the industry operating in an international marketplace that spans 32 countries.
