Holman Fenwick & Willan held a launch reception on 29 March 2006 to celebrate the recent opening of the Dubai office. The setting was the spectacular Burj Al Arab hotel and over 200 guests joined Partners and staff from all of HFW's offices.
Roderic O'Sullivan, Senior Partner was introduced to the guests by Edward Newitt, the head of the Dubai office. Roderic said it had been the firm's ambition for some time to open an office in the Middle East to provide an even better service to our clients in the region or those doing business with the area. It was with great pleasure that HFW had found a team who fitted so well with the firm's practice areas and ethos. The practice areas of the Dubai office mirror the firm's four groups of Shipping & Transport, Trade & Energy, Insurance & Reinsurance and Commercial.
The Dubai office of Holman Fenwick & Willan opened on 1st February 2006 following the transfer of all the Partners and staff of the Dubai office of London law firm Hill Taylor Dickinson, which had been established in Dubai since 1996. The office is staffed by 12 lawyers, some of whom are Arabic speakers.
