International fashion designer Julien Macdonald designs exclusive laptop bags for Intel
International fashion designer Julien Macdonald has created three exclusive laptop bag designs for Intel, to celebrate the growing role that technology plays in women’s lives. The Julien Macdonald laptop bag for Intel compliments the new generation of laptops and the unwired lifestyle enabled by Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology.
The bags are designed to be the 21st century handbag containing all of the essentials for modern living: not only make-up and a cell phone but email contacts, electronic calendar and Internet access. The laptop bags have been created in stylish leather and gold and come in three colours: white, fuchsia and black.
The bag encapsulates everything that has made the handbag an essential accessory and object of desire for women across the world. Like all classic handbags the bag perfectly combines the aesthetic and the practical.
“The women I design for are constantly on the move, leading busy work and social lives, and technology plays an important role in keeping them connected, and on top of all aspects of their lives. Laptop bags, until now, have all too often let women down, typically made from cheap materials and in dull designs. Not exactly the luxury item women dream of to match their Prada shoes. The Julien Macdonald laptop bag for Intel allows them to enjoy the benefits of technology and be fashionable at the same time.” said Julien Macdonald.
Commenting on the designs, Souad Banani, Sales Manager at Intel said “Today’s successful women aren’t usually interested in how technology works, they are interested in how itenhances their life. The Julien Macdonald laptop bag for Intel is designed to match the new type of laptop enabled by Intel Centrino mobile technology and the women that use it: smart, chic and connected. Working with Julien Macdonald is a great way for us to show how far technology has become integrated and essential to the modern woman.”
As one of the world’s leading technology companies, Intel is constantly looking to focus technology on the everyday needs of today’s computer users. The company launched Intel Centrino mobile technology * to bring more freedom to computer users. Laptops that are based around the technology have longer battery life, fast processing power - the processor is the brains inside a PC - and allow wireless connection to the growing number of Internet hotspots. Intel Centrino mobile technology based laptops also enable designs to become thinner and lighter – so carrying one round all day won’t weigh you down. Hotspots are wireless Internet** access points installed across the country in cafes, hotels, stations and other public locations.
“Even the world of fashion has to move with the times and embrace technology. As a designer based in both London and Paris I have found this technology invaluable for staying connected with my team and customers while I’m on the move. Having wireless technology in my London studio also gives me the opportunity to work in a more flexible way without having to be tethered to a desk when using a PC.” Added Julien Macdonald.
