United Arab Emirates - Dubai 12 June: The American University in the emirates organized a seminar on Insurance and Risk Management Industry captioned "The 21st Century Imperatives for Insurance and Risk Management Industry in UAE from Global Perspective - Driving Changes and Role of the Academia to Support a Sustainable Development of the Sector in the Region".

The seminar was opened by Dr. Salem AL Darmaki, Undersecretary to the Ministry of Health, UAE. On this occasion, Mr. Khalaf Al Qubaisi, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees AUE, distinguished speakers, eminent figures in insurance industry, people from the academia, faculties and participants were present.

Dr. Salem AL Darmaki, Undersecretary to the Ministry of Health, UAE, very much appreciated such initiative by the AUE and underscored such frequent interactions will pave ways to understand market needs, share experience and help to introduce Insurance and Risk management undergraduate program of AUE.

Prof Muthanna Abdul G Razzaq, President and the Chief Executive Officer of the American University in the Emirates in his remarks stated that the forum allows greater participation and helps to bring in thoughtful solutions to the market from academia and the insurance and Risk management experts. He further expressed AUE is always open to such networking and will continue to organized such sessions for the benefit of the academia, policy planners and business partners.

Various CEO, MD and Speakers in the seminar underscored the need to increase the awareness of the economic and social aspect in the Insurance and Risk Management sector in the UAE, and GCC countries. The prominent speakers were;Mr. Parvaiz Siddiq, CEO, Noor Takaful, Mr. Carl J.
