'The Business School for the World' continues to expand its global business education in the Middle East as it celebrates its 50th anniversary
Abu Dhabi 08 October 2009 - INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced it will launch its world renowned Executive MBA programme from its Abu Dhabi campus starting in the 2010/2011 academic year. The announcement was made by Javier Gimeno, INSEAD's newly appointed Dean of EMBA, in the presence of Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, in advance of the Master Class which will be held in Abu Dhabi on 14 October 2009.
INSEAD will launch in Abu Dhabi a section of its Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) programme, which rose from 9th to 6th place in this year's Financial Times EMBA rankings. The GEMBA programme, now in its sixth year, is ranked among the best in the world. Participants based in the Middle East will be able to take core courses in the Abu Dhabi campus in the first half of the programme, and then integrate into a global cohort for several joint modules with GEMBA participants based in Europe and Asia. INSEAD also has a dual-degree EMBA programme in partnership with Tsinghua University in Beijing, with a focus on China. GEMBA participants based in the Middle East will also interact and network with Tsinghua-INSEAD EMBA participants.
'The Abu Dhabi Global EMBA is a very globally-integrated programme, leveraging INSEAD's campuses in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East,' said Javier Gimeno, Dean of INSEAD's EMBA programme. 'It will provide an unmatched international experience in a central location for executives working in the region. The Abu Dhabi section will join a network with participants from more than 40 nationalities. It is an innovative programme structure for executives, family business owners and entrepreneurs who wish to advance their management skills and broaden their horizons.'
Dr. Al Khaili added: 'The government of Abu Dhabi considers advancement in education to be an integral part of its social and economic development plans. We are currently implementing a range of strategies to deliver education excellence and are particularly proud of our partnership with the 'Business School for the World'. With this and other strategies in place, Abu Dhabi looks forward to becoming a hub for higher education. We hope that INSEAD students from around the world will value the opportunity to learn within the unique and exciting business climate of the UAE.'
The announcement marks a significant milestone for INSEAD Abu Dhabi's growth and comes at a time when the school celebrates its 50th anniversary. INSEAD was founded 50 years ago with the unique vision of creating a leading business school for Europe, and has since expanded exponentially beyond its initial European focus.
The Master Class by Professor Javier Gimeno on 'Risk Proofing Your Strategy: Developing Strategies for High Uncertainty Environments,' will take place in Abu Dhabi on 14 October 2009. To register, please visit: http://www.insead.edu/centreinabudhabi/
