“The initiative is part of our joint strategy and cooperation with Philip Morris Misr, to support the state's efforts in reducing the impact of COVID-19. We have provided nearly 4,500 units of personal protection equipment, gloves, and face masks, worth approximately 2 million Egyptian pounds - (1,977,833 pounds). The supplies will be provided by Ahl Masr Hospital, and delivered directly to Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al Ainy hospitals, following Eid Al-Fitr holiday,” said Mireille Youssef, Managing Director of INJAZ Egypt.
Youssef highlighted that INJAZ is considering expanding the initiative, to include other isolation hospitals, especially in light of the announcements made by Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population, of the daily increase in the number of patients. “We are committed to support the noble medical staff who are risking their lives for the sake of the whole Egyptian population, and ensuring they carry out their jobs while staying safe,” added Youssef.
“Philip Morris has always been an active partner in the field of corporate social responsibility. Together, we have successfully launched social initiatives that have contributed to achieving development and solidarity in many of Egypt’s governorates. We have also launched several joint initiatives, for the development of personal skills, contributing to the provision of hundreds of job opportunities, and helping them improve their living standards. To support the country’s efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19, we launched the first phase of the ‘Together today for a better tomorrow’ initiative on the 23rd of April, to provide essential food products for 2,000 the most vulnerable families who were negatively affected by the economic consequences of COVID-19,” concluded Youssef.
