The Department of Civil Aviation Dubai, on February 28th, welcomed the inaugural KLM Boeing 777 flight from Amsterdam. HE David Dewaal, Ambassador to UAE from The Netherlands, and senior management from DCA, DNATA and KLM were present at the inaugural ceremony.
 
For the occasion, the KLM check-in counters were decorated with blue and white balloons and later passengers and guest invited for the ceremony were escorted to the KLM lounge in Sheikh Rashid Terminal for cake cutting and refreshments.
 
The new Boeing 777 has 290 seats in economy and 31 seats in business class. Initially the aircraft will be put into use twice a week which at a later stage is expected to be put into operation daily.
