Doha, Qatar, 20 March 2012 - The inaugural class of the Energy Management Development Programme (MDP) graduated yesterday at the Qatar Financial Centre in Doha. This annual programme, now in its second year, is taught by PwC Qatar as part of an ongoing strategy to address the needs of the Qatari and GCC business community within the Oil and Gas sector.
The programme was delivered to participants by senior management consultants and internationally acclaimed professors in five non-consecutive one-week sessions over the course of 25 weeks. It also incorporated a spectacular visit to Ras Laffan.
The seven graduates were Amro Elmoatessem, Lamia Zaman, Abdulhakeem Al Yazeedi, Ali Burshaid, Khalid Al Subaey, Moza Al-Naimi and Santosh D'Silva. Amongst the guest speakers at the graduation ceremony was Professor Jan Willem Velthuijsen who delivered an inspiring speech to the graduates.
Diplomas were awarded to the graduates and the class valedictorian, Amro Elmoatessem (Shell), delivered a thoughtful and well articulated speech on the sustainable benefits that the programme has provided to him and his fellow classmates.
The ceremony was attended by VIP guests, sponsors, teachers, the current MDP students and QFC officials.
