HRH Donates $100,000 to Support Humanitarian and Cultural Projects that are headed by the First Lady

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) and his wife visited the city of Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 in response to an official invitation from the country's President Nambaryn Enkhbayar.

Upon his arrival, Prince Alwaleed and accompanying delegation headed to the Presidential Palace to meet the President of Mongolia Nambaryn Enkhbayar. The President cordially greeted and welcomed Prince Alwaleed, and thanked him for accepting his invitation. A meeting was held following the reception during which President Enkhbayar and Prince Alwaleed discussed bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Mongolia. Also, a number of social and economic issues that pertain to both countries and investment opportunities in Mongolia were part of the subjects discussed. HRH then met with the First Lady Onongiin Tsolmon and handed her a donation of $100,000 to support her humanitarian and cultural projects in Mongolia.

Mongolia is the world's second-largest landlocked country after Kazakhstan. It is typically classified as being a part of East Asia, although sometimes it is considered part of Central Asia, and the northern rim of historical Mongolia extends into North Asia. It is bordered by Russia to the north and China to the south. Mongolia's economy is centered on agriculture and mining. Mongolia has rich mineral resources, copper, coal, molybdenum, tin, tungsten, and gold account for a large part of industrial production.
