HP brings art and theatre to the children of Dubai

DUBAI, UAE – April 25, 2004

As part of HP’s ongoing mission to promote talent and creativity to communities at large, the Imaging and Printing Group of HP Middle East is proud to associate itself in bringing to the UAE, the Birmingham Stage Company’s, ‘George’s Marvelous Medicine’ in conjunction with the Rashid Pediatric Center.

As part of the children’s participation at the Production over the next 4 days, they will be writing reviews of the production highlighting the most enjoyable parts and demonstrating their understanding of the English Language.

At a press conference held today to announce the theatre production of ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ coming to Dubai, Sherifa Hady, Marketing Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East said “We are honored to participate in this production not only because all proceeds go to charity, but by being here today, we re-enforce our commitment towards educating children in UAE in both literature and technology.”

HP is recognized as a philanthropic leader among global corporations. Last year, HP contributed more than $62 million in resources worldwide to advance the ability of students, teachers, community residents and nonprofits to solve some of their most fundamental challenges.

HP has a vision of the future where technology is accessible to everyone in the world as a means to learn, work and benefit from information. Consistent with this vision, our Philanthropy and Education programs are today focusing the majority of our resources on developing and supporting programs and partnerships that promote educational opportunity and e-inclusion for people in underserved communities around the world.

The Birmingham Stage Company stages 3 productions each year. And as the Birmingham Post says "BSC's children shows have become an institution."

‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ is taking place from May 2 to 5 at 4:30pm at Knowledge Village. As one of the sponsors of the play, HP will be providing an opportunity for children and their families to win HP Digital Imaging Products by answering simple questions about HP technology.
