Conservation efforts result in 6.2% reduction in electricity, 2% reduction in water for 2008.

Hilton Dubai Jumeirah has been recognized by Dubai Water & Electricity Authority (DEWA) for significantly reducing the use of water & electricity in 2008, as part of the 'Your Decision' conservation campaign.

Hilton Dubai Jumeirah's strive to reduce their carbon foot-print resulted in a 6.2% reduction in electricity usage, while a 2% decrease was recorded in water consumption in 2008, a year which was the busiest on record since the property's opening.

DEWA's 'Your Decision' campaign which began in February 2008, is a call to action program encouraging all sectors of Dubai to embrace conservation policies at every level of operation. DEWA revealed that in 2008 the total consumption of water in Dubai was reduced by 37% and electricity by 6%.

Commenting on the recognition, Christian Muhr, General Manager, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort & Residence, said, "Hilton Dubai Jumeirah is committed to the heart of the communities in which it operates, our support of DEWA's conservation campaign is a tangible example of our proactive efforts towards a sustainable future."

Hilton Dubai Jumeirah fully supports Hilton Hotels Corporation's comprehensive sustainability goals, implementing business practices that are aligned with those goals. The hotel participates in 'Earth Hour' each year, and pledges its support to environmental and social sustainability by implementing Hilton's water conservation program and energy efficient lighting to name a few.
