Muscat-According to Oman's 8th Five Year Plan 2011-2015, 34% of the total current expenditure has been allotted to improving the quality of learning, research and development and manpower training. Increasing enrolment rates in Higher Education Institutions (HEI's) indicates positive demand among Omani students for higher education. The percentage of Omani students within the age group of 18-24 pursuing higher studies locally & abroad, is estimated to increase to 50% by 2020. In line with this trend, OITE Trade Fairs invites you to find out why local higher education institutions chose to exhibit at GHEDEX taking place from 20-22 April at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from 9:30am-1:00pm & 4:30pm-9:00pm.
The Colleges of Technology have participated at GHEDEX 10 times and feel that GHEDEX is an apt launchpad for HEIs to introduce new course programmes & specializations. The Colleges of Technology will introduce 7 new specializations at the latest edition of GHEDEX including Land Surveying, Mechatronics, Chemical & Petrochemical, Biomedical engineering, Information Systems, Chartered Insurance Qualifications and Industrial Hygiene, in addition to the existing 30 specializations already being offered.
