MBRHE Appoints a new Assistant to the Housing Affairs Executive Officer

Dubai, 6th February, 2008: In line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chief of the Executive Council, appoints Engineer Burhan Abdul Rahman Al Habbai Assistant to the Executive Officer of Housing Affairs. This step further demonstrates the commitment of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) to attract local talent and expertise to contribute in achieving the visions, ambitions and strategic goals of the Establishment.

Engineer Burhan Abdul Rahman Al Habbai has extensive experience with over 16 years in the housing field. He previously worked in the Government Housing Department at Dubai Municipality as Chief of the Governmental Housing Designing and Consultancy Services. Since the 23rd of July 2007 until now, he was the Managing Director of the housing projects management in Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. He now is the new Assistant to the Executive Officer of Housing Affairs.

Engineer Burhan Abdul Rahman Al Habbai has a Bachelor Degree in Architecture Science from the United Arab Emirates Engineering University.

In a statement, Engineer Rashid Mohammed Al-Mutawwa, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, reinforced the Establishment's aim to attract young national talents and guaranteed that as the working team of the establishment they would successfully achieve the missions assigned to them. He also said that Engineer Burhan Al Habai is an example of the promising talents that will make huge contributions to achieving the Establishment's strategy that aims to provide the best services to the UAE nationals as part of the establishment's efforts to provide adequate housing for national families in the Emirate of Dubai.

Engineer Rashid Al Mutawa added that this step comes as a part of the systems and procedures that Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment follows to give young national talents opportunities to takeover important leading positions, to attain excellent performances levels and raise the level of productivity.

About MBRHE
The Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) was established by virtue of a decree passed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai on September 28, 2006. Being an independent public corporate body with all the legal competence to achieve its objectives, the MBRHE has its headquarters in Dubai City and boast of a capital of about AED12 billion.

Its major task is to own, rent and lease land and other real estate properties. It also deals in other activities like managing financial issues related to housing loans, contracting financial and banking institutions and designing for UAE nationals housing units and complexes and other related amenities.

The MBRHE grants three types of loans to UAE nationals. These include:

  • Housing loans for building of private houses

  • Granting of AED750,000 loan facility for purchasing of house (completed or uncompleted) for personal use.

  • Granting of a maximum loan facility of AED300,000 for expansion of private house.

The MBRHE has also drawn a plan through which it will be granting 150 loans per month to a tune of 1,800 loans per year.

The MBRHE is currently executing a number of housing projects in various parts of the Emirate of Dubai. The foundation stone of the Phase I of an AED10 billion housing project, comprising 10,000 housing units had been laid.

The MBRHE is also engaged in providing free government houses, maintenance and house extension works to low-income groups, including widows, divorced women, people with special needs and heirs. The move is part of the government's unlimited support for this important segment of the society with the aim of any imminent hardship they might be facing.
