H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Saud Al Qasimi; Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah inaugurates Daycare Center at RAK Hospital

The First and only dedicated unit entirely for Daycare Services in Northern Emirates

3^rd April, 2012, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE - .H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Saud Al Qasimi; Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, today inaugurated the first and only dedicated 'Daycare centre' in Northern Emirates at RAK Hospital. Spread across 3000 sqft, equipped with ultra-modern facilities and state of the art infrastructure, the centre focuses on Daycare Services, where overnight admissions are not necessary. It includes a wide range of surgeries, consultation with Specialists, preventive health checkups and lifestyle counseling. This 12 bed capacity center plans to perform at least 25% of the total surgeries by motivating patients to undergo minor procedures that allow them to recover faster and return home same day, making it much more economical.

Almost all minor ophthalmic, ENT, urological and gynecological procedures can be performed at the new centre. A number of therapeutic procedures like administration of Biologics for rheumatoid arthritis patients or chemotherapy for cancer patients, etc where overnight admission is not needed can also be carried out at the Daycare Centre. The Centre is supported by a fully fledged diagnostic center equipped with advanced facilities for CT, Mammogram, X-Ray, other diagnostic requirements and comprehensive lab services.

This is possible now a days because of advanced surgical procedures such as key hole surgery, newer drugs used in anesthesia allowing patients to recover consciousness very quickly, excellent post operative care and effective pain relief using modern painkillers. The centre will testify our superior facilities, surgical expertise and services by taking holistic patient centered approach and delivering same high quality care at nearly 50 % less cost. It is wonderful to see this facility receive the support and recognition of leaders in our community." 

Adding further, Mr. Raza Siddiqui said, "The new Centre is an evidence of RAK Hospitals success in short span of time and beginning of our ambitious expansion program. We have come a long way as we continue to undertake initiatives for the first time in Northern Emirates such as opening of 1^st specialized cardiac unit, a fully equipped neurosurgery department, Joint replacement center, advanced minimal invasive surgery department and further plans to bring other key specialties to Ras Al Khaimah.
