Grand prize of AED 10,000 up for grabs by the mystery cricket star

Gillette Blue II Excel, the flagship of disposable razors and Gillette Foam, the aerosol offering to shave cream users, have kicked off their search for the region's fastest bowler by inviting cricket lovers to take part in a six-week tournament at the Global Village. The competition will offer winners a daily cash prize of AED 500 as well as a grand prize of AED 10,000 to be scooped by the bowler achieving the highest score.

The event, which takes place at the Gillette Blue II Excel cricket arena located next to the Indian Pavilion at the Global Village, kicked off on the 3rd of January 2007 and is set to run Wednesdays to Saturdays each week (4pm-10pm). A speed gun is used to measure the bowling speed of each participant.

The Gillette Blue II Excel, the new generation of Gillette Blue II, is the only disposable razor with two independently spring mounted blades on a pivot heat that self-adjusts to the curves and contours of the skin allowing consumers to get the best disposable shave.

The Gillette Foam, the new pre-shave alternative to shaving cream, contains a thick extra rich formula that provides readymade lather resulting in a more comfortable and smoother shaving experience.

According to Ahmed El Mehdy, brand manager at Gillette, Arabian Peninsula, this initiative further evolves Gillette's commitment to encouraging an active lifestyle and allows for an opportunity to directly connect with its consumer base in the Arab world.

El Mahdy said: "Our research shows that Blue II Excel users are sports enthusiasts and dedicated followers of cricket. Using the Global Village platform, we are giving cricket fans the opportunity to participate in a region-wide initiative to spot the region's cricket star."

El Mahdi explained that the Gillette Blue II Excel answers the call of committed disposable razor users for an extremely affordable shave that boasts not only technological innovation but a clean, smooth and hassle-free experience as well.

"This new addition to the Gillette Blue II ensures outstanding results, and positions the razor as the most technologically advanced disposable."

The razor further features an open architecture for a quick and easy rinse and an anti-slip handle with ergonomic design.

The Gillette foam (200 ml) is available in seven variants and contains an extra rich formula which helps to quickly soften the beard.
