Mr. Charles Constantin GEZE Middle East Managing Director, on the sidelines of an industry forum hosted by the company last night at the Grand Hyatt Doha, said: "Innovation and sustainability go together and we are seeing new demand for innovative technologies that meet high safety and efficiency standards. The company which is already present in Qatar through door, window and safety systems installed in places such as The Pearl Qatar, the new Wakra Hospital and the headquarters of Qatar Civil Defense, officially unveiled its new RWA technology in Qatar to an audience comprising top executives from a number of property firms, architects and contractors. GEZE's RWA, already available to many key developers, combines safety and design with preventative fire protection in smoke and heat extraction systems (RWA).

Part of the reason for this forum was to connect with existing and potential partners, including contractors architects and other industry stakeholders who contribute personally by driving the adoption of such niche technologies in projects.

Mr. Constantin says the company's business is led by such people who advocate on behalf of GEZE: "We have been in this niche business for nearly a century and a half and the insights gained in this aspect of building technology over such a long time help us deliver greater value to our partners and conversely we cannot survive in this business without their collaboration.

In addition to technologies such as RWA, GEZE has further developed integrated all-glass systems with proven technology combining with energy-efficient solutions. According to GEZE, one of the topics that will determine the future of door and window technology is energy efficiency.

"Intelligent" doors and windows with coordinated control technologies save energy and provide additional convenience and security. GEZE predicts that control and monitoring systems to handle the opening status of windows, in the event of fire and for daily ventilation purposes, will become standard in a few years, with fast adoption expected in the GCC region, particularly in countries such as Qatar that have demonstrated the will and desire to seek environmentally sustainable solutions as evidenced in the recent Qatar 2022 bid proposals, said Mr. Constantine.

The potential for growth and collaboration in Qatar is immense he said citing current directives from Qatar Civil Defense to enforce mandatory safety standards, particularly in fire prevention and general safety measures across a number of critical sectors, including healthcare and civil utility facilities as well as in general construction projects.
