Dubai, UAE, December 17, 2003 – Dubai’s most avant-garde Christmas tree resides in the Grand Hyatt Dubai this festive season overlooking the hotel’s elegant Al Nakheel Lounge. Renowned French-Algerian decorator – Cédric Amani – flew in especially from Paris to adorn the hotel’s extraordinary 6 metres Nordman Fir tree which was recently imported from Germany.
The unique contemporary design concept depicts a tree donning a winter scarf to keep warm. The ornate scarf is wrapped around the top of the tree and luxuriously drapes down to its base. The colour palette includes warm tones which reflect and complement the golden hues found throughout the hotel décor. Over half a dozen different types of jewel-toned baubles with matte and shiny finishes are showcased in shades of orange, plum and brown. Other French ornaments include transparent glass icicles and snowballs casting a prism effect onto the hotel’s foyer. A majestic gold and purple organza fabric is intertwined throughout the tree to enhance its shimmery allusion and further reflect the dazzling lights of the design.
Visit the Grand Hyatt on 23 December to listen to Christmas carols sung by local school children from 7.30 pm – 8:00 pm and 8.30pm 9:00pm. In addition, don’t miss Santa Claus’ special appearances in all hotel restaurants on 24 and 25 December dishing out generous servings of holiday cheer.
