Dubai, United Arab Emirates: 20 April, 2011 - Shake Shack, Steve Madden, Gina Shoes and the soon-to-be-opened Jimmy Choo and Marks & Spencer - just a few more reasons why in-the-know residents of Dubai and tourists alike are flocking to the Emirate's number one shopping destination: Mall of the Emirates.
From its beginnings as a humble "NYC Shack", Shake Shack has grown to become an international phenomenon. Serving award-winning, 'real American' burgers, in addition to their delicious hot dogs and legendary frozen custard, America's modern day 'roadside' burger stand has set up home in the distinguished mall. With its reputation for great taste, Shake Shack is renowned for its simple, yet fantastic setting, and just like its American counterpart customers are queuing up for a taste of the Big Apple.
From America's much-loved burgers, to one of American's most successful shoe designers - Steve Madden has also recently set foot in Mall of the Emirates. Considered the fashion mogul of the 21st century, Madden is responsible for designing trendsetting shoes for young, fashion-forward women. He states, "What inspires me is what I see people wearing on the streets of the world from New York to London, and beyond. I get my ideas and inspiration from pounding the pavement all over the world". And, fashion-savvy customers to Mall of the Emirates can do just that. With the opening of its Gina Boutique and soon-to-be opened Jimmy Choo store, visitors to the mall can feel like they're shopping in and exclusive Bond Street establishment or strutting down New York's 5th Avenue to collect their sough-after shoes.
Established in London, by the master shoemaker, Mehmet Kurdash, Gina opened its first couture salon in Old Bond Street in 1999 and has since grown to be a celebrity go-to brand. Kurdash developed Gina Shoes with one clear desire - to create beautifully, glamorous hand-made footwear. Named after the alluring actress, Gina Lollobrigida, Gina Shoes never compromise on quality, with each design created from only the finest materials.
Women around the world prize Jimmy Choo shoes for their classic design, fine craftsmanship and surprising comfort. Launched in 1996 by London shoe designer, Jimmy Choo, and Vogue accessories editor, Tamara Mellan, this iconic haute footwear brand has become a household name. With a fresh selection of innovative, on trend shoes each session, shoppers will always have a new collection to choose from. Additionally, the collections handbags and clutch purses are also on offer - all of which have been seen in the hands of celebrities like Cameron Diaz and Sarah Jessica Parker.
High Street giant and a British favourite, Marks & Spencer are also joining the lineup. Opening in July, 2011 customers to Mall of the Emirates can now sample British staples such as Yorkshire pudding, steak & kidney pie and bangers and mash in the comfort of their own home when they purchase the popular stores ready meals. Additionally, the chains popular women's wear, menswear and children's wear are also on offer.
Mall of the Emirates VP Fuad Mansoor Sharaf said "We change our retail mix to meet our customers' demands. As our retail mix grows year on year, so does our leasable space such as with the Fashion Dome which opened last September, adding more than 40 luxury new stores. We welcome our new international brands to Mall of the Emirates and the iconic traits each bring to the mall".
With everything you could possibly need under one roof at Mall of the Emirates, it really is 'the' shopping destination in the UAE and if you think so too, you can vote for them in the Grazia Style Awards, online until 4th May, 2011.
