Mall hosts events for children, parents and romantics of any age
Dubai, July 18, 2004 - From the sublime to the boisterous, there's literally something for everyone at the BurJuman Centre during Flower Surprises week: a variety of art, craft and activity workshops and competitions for children; innovative and eye-catching contests aimed at adults; and bargains galore in flowers and floral products in the mall's Flower Market.
Organised by Dubai Municipality, the Flower Surprises week is one of the most popular in the 10-week Dubai Summer Surprises, and BurJuman, as the mall of choice for most of its events, sees crowds of enchanted residents and tourists clamouring for the bursts of colour and fragrance every day.
Sabina Khandwani, Head of Research and Marketing for BurJuman, said that the mall was an ideal location for Flower Surprises events not only because the week's theme reflects the style and grace epitomized by the mall, but also because both are involved in providing a sense of wonderment and beauty for the entire family.
"Flower Surprises week fits in well with our approach to our retailers and visitors to our mall," she said. "We try to showcase some of the best things in life for all comers."
For children, the Flower Surprises activities are guaranteed to fire their imaginations: there are not only flower painting and flower handicraft workshops and magic shows, but also plate-painting workshops, suncatcher workshops, flower printing workshops and the magical flower rain.
For professionals in the industry or anyone interested in the art of flowers, there are floral arrangement contests open to companies and interested individuals; best western and Oriental perfume contests for men and women; and a series of wedding-related floral competitions including Best Decorated Car with Flowers, Best Decorated Wedding Parade with Flowers and Best Decorated Wedding with Flowers.
The two wedding ceremonies being held on Tuesday, July 20, at the BurJuman extension's 'Earth Court' are also sure to be crowd pullers.
In addition, the Flower Market on the lower level of the mall provides romantics of any age with the opportunity to buy fresh or dried flowers, floral perfumes or other floral accessories at bargain prices.
BurJuman is also currently holding Dubai's most luxurious sale with the unique mall-wide promotion giving shoppers the opportunity to benefit from a number of fantastic offers from world-class brands. During the promotion, which ends on July 31, more than a 100 of stores at BurJuman are offering great value on their merchandise through special offers ranging from 30 to 70 percent.
Dubai Summer Surprises 2004 is currently in the Flower Surprises week organised by Dubai Municipality until July 21, followed by Heritage Surprises by Dubai Customs from July 22-28, Adventure Surprises by Dubai Police from July 29-August 4, Knowledge Surprises by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry from August 5-11, Back-2-School Surprises by the Department of Economic Development from August 12-18 and ends with the Colour Surprises by the Department of Health and Medical Sciences from August 19-27, 2004.
