Entitled 'Strategies for Navigating the Global Markets in 2016 and Beyond', the talk will cover changes in the global financial landscape and how investors can gain traction this year
Dubai - Financial expert Nili Gilbert will address Members and their guests at Capital Club, Dubai's Premier Private City Club and member of the ENSHAA group of companies, on Wednesday, 27 January. The talk will be hosted by Riz Khan, the international journalist recognised worldwide for his television shows on BBC, CNN, and Al Jazeera English.
The event, entitled 'Strategies for Navigating the Global Markets in 2016 and Beyond', will see Gilbert answering questions such as "How will the changing global landscape affect your investment decisions?" and offering insights into how investors are currently positioning their portfolios.
2015 was a particularly difficult year for global markets and the pool of investors who are able to consistently turn a profit is steadily shrinking, which begs the question: "What will it take for investors to gain in 2016 and beyond?" It is that question, among others, which Nili Gilbert will endeavour to answer during her talk.
Gilbert is Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager of Matarin Capital, with responsibility for hedge fund and long-only equity strategies, and is regularly invited to share her extensive investment insights on CNBC television network. She is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with a BA from Harvard University, where she graduated magna cum laude in a Special Concentration in Economics and Social Studies, and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University, where she was a Toigo Fellow.
Gilbert was selected as a winner of the Toigo Bridge to Business 2011 award, and as a 100 Women in Hedge Funds 2013 Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Scholar. She chairs the Finance and Investment Committees of the Board of Directors of the Synergos Institute, an organization founded and chaired by Peggy Dulany, the daughter of renowned American banker, David Rockefeller. Gilbert is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, where she sits on its International Affairs Fellows Selection Committee and its Term Member Advisory Committee.
The event, which will run from 6:30 - 8:30pm in Al Hamra, is part of the club's 'Speaker Series'. Spaces for the event are limited and RVSP is essential.
