Latest Stylus Pro printers and UltraChrome ink specially designed for fine art, photography and proofing
Epson Middle East is exhibiting its Stylus Pro range of large-format printers using UltraChrome ink technology at Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East 2008, the region's only specialized signage, graphic imaging and screen printing trade show, which will end today (Tuesday, February 19, 2008) in Dubai. It is Epson's 10th consecutive participation at the event, and this year's high visitor turnout is expected to boost annual company sales by 15 to 20 per cent.
Epson's product line-up at the exhibition includes the Stylus Pro 11880, the Stylus Pro 9400, the Stylus Pro 7880 and the Stylus Pro 3800/4880, all of which produce high-quality final prints intended for the fine art, photography and proofing markets via a unique 8-color ink technology called UtraChrome. UltraChrome is Epson's latest generation of pigment ink that incorporates eight new color pigments, including a new three-level black technology, which significantly increases the quality of professional color and black and white prints. The UltraChrome line includes UtraChrome Hi-Gloss2, UltraChrome K3, and UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta.
Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, "This year marks our 10th consecutive participation in this major regional event, which provides excellent opportunities to network, interact with consumers and establish contacts. Historically, we have been hitting a sales increase of 15 to 20 per cent during the event, which we expect to sustain through our innovative UltraChrome-based printers."
The 64-inch Stylus Pro 11880, which uses the UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta, is the first Epson printer to integrate the new Micropiezo thin film piezo print head with 360 nozzles per inch for each of nine active ink cartridges. It can print barcode and text on partially used paper rolls to record the quantity of paper left and identify media type, thus allowing users to switch between paper types and rolls for varying jobs. The 44-inch Stylus Pro 9400, which uses UltraChrome ink, supports media from A4 up to B0+ and is ideal for point of sale, computer aided design, geographic information system, and mask making applications.
The 24-inch Stylus Pro 7880, which uses UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta, uses an Ethernet interface to achieve fast and efficient processing speeds and features a print head which delivers sharp detail and accurate colour reproduction when combined with Epson's Super Halftone technology. The 17-inch Stylus Pro 3800 uses the UltraChrome K3 to provide sharp images via a new photographic screening technology and an auto-sharing black ink technology that supports automatic photo and matte black ink switching; another 17-inch printer, the Stylus Pro 4880, uses UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta to produce cost-effective A2+ prints. Its three paper paths can support various roll and cut sheet media up to 1.5mm thick for excellent edge-to-edge photo quality prints.
"Our Stylus Pro range uses innovative Micropiezo print head technology to superbly control ink quantity, and Variable Sized Droplet Technology, which automatically adjusts the size of the droplet according to image content. They are connectible to USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 FireWire ports, making them highly versatile, flexible and easy to use. These technologies offer maximum print quality for fine art, photography and proofing applications, further strengthening our position as a regional and global leader in printing solutions," concluded El-Dalu.
Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East 2008 is the only show of its kind serving the wider Middle East, Indian Sub-continent and CIS regions. More than 30 countries are participating this year, with over 300 participants coming from the Middle East and North Africa, Levant, Pan-Arab, Europe, North American and South East Asian countries. This year's heavy turnout reflects a 35 per cent growth for the show and the rapid growth and potential of the region's signage and outdoor publicity industries.
